ATC reserves judgment on Falak Javed’s post-arrest bail plea

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday reserved its judgment on a post-arrest bail petition filed by PTI activist Falak Javed in a case concerning an alleged attack on Islamabad Police personnel at Zaman Park.

ATC Judge Malik Abid Hussain heard the bail petition and reserved the judgment after completion of arguments. The court will announce its decision on September 5.

During the hearing, the prosecution presented the case record before the court in compliance with its directions, while counsel for Falak Javed completed arguments in support of her bail plea.

He said the investigation had been completed and that the accused was currently in jail on judicial remand, adding that there was no justification for keeping her behind bars any longer.

The prosecution opposed the bail application, alleging that Falak Javed was involved in an attack on Islamabad Police officers at Zaman Park.

The prosecutor told the court that the Islamabad Police team had visited Zaman Park to serve summons on PTI founder when the officers came under attack.

The prosecution further alleged that a petrol bomb had been recovered from Falak Javed. A case relating to the alleged attack on police officers was registered at Race Course Police Station, the court was informed.

After hearing arguments from both sides and examining the case record, the court reserved its judgment, which will be announced on September 5.
