E-judicial service launched in AJK: CJ AJK HC

Mirpur (ajk): Under the spirit to provide direct access to the litigants to secure immediate status of their under trial cases in High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the subordinate judiciary, entire related record of the judiciary has been computerised in entire AJK State.

This was disclosed by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja while talking to journalists during visit to Kashmir Press Club here on Monday.

Newly inducted Capital Police Officer SSP Muzaffarabad Raja Irfan Saleem was also present on this occasion.

Kashmir Press Club President Syed Abid Hussain Shah and other office bearers and senior journalists welcomed the Chief Justice Mr. Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja with the hope for delivery of speedy and expensive justice to the needy by the High Court of AJK and the subordinate judiciary in AJK.

The CJ said that any of the litigant would be able to have immediate status and know-how about the status including next date of hearing etc. of his or her under-trial case or cases from his home directly through Internet service from the concerned court of law, instead of personally visiting the clerical staffer of the court.

Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja categorically said while responding to a question that Computerisation of the judiciary record about the under trial or disposed off judicial cases in the AJK HC and subordinate judiciary will not only provide latest mean of communication furnishing litigant people to have direct access about the status of their under trial cases instantly but also close the door of alleged corruption in form of illegal gratification by the litigant to the concerned court clerk for securing information about the status of their cases manually, he added.

The AJK HC and subordinate judiciary has started working to this direction and under the project of Computerisation of the recotmrd of judiciary all the judicial system of Azad Kashmir has been inter- connected.

He underlined that "Registration of Deeds through Computerised project" has become functional in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad. "During next two to three months, the online registry system will also be activated in whole of AJK.

He advised the journalist fraternity to play a responsible and important role in smoothing public opinion. "Responsible journalism is necessary for emergence of a healthy society, he emphasized.

He said that he was trying his best to ensure the e-courts system fully functional in the AJK HC and subordinate judiciary to file cases including to know about the verdicts and cases related to other courts.

The CJ lauded AJK Information Technology Board and it's officials for timely completion of this state of the art judicial record computerisation project, which, he hoped, will bring transparency in the registration process and eliminate the chances of error. "Similarly, the issues of pending cases will also be resolved in time, he added.

In response to a question, the CJ said that there was no any pending case for last five years in the High Court of AJK.

Shaza Fatima chairs meeting on Starlink, LEO Satellite Licensing

Islamabad: Minister of State Shaza Fatima Khawaja chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review progress on Starlink's licensing and the development of regulatory frameworks for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.

The meeting focused on expediting the regulatory processes to establish a robust framework for LEO satellites to enhance connectivity and drive technological innovation.

According to a news release, it was decided that hiring consultants to formulate regulations would be completed within a few weeks.

She underscored the importance of aligning Pakistan's satellite technology policies with global standards to unlock the full potential of these technologies for national growth and development.

The meeting was attended by Zarrar Hashim Khan, Secretary IT, Ministry of IT and Telecom; Azfar Manzoor, Special Secretary, Ministry of IT and Telecom; Amer Sarfaraz Ahmed, Chairman, Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board; Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Chairman, SUPARCO; Maj. Government committed to advancing energy sector, employee welfare: Governor Kundi


Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday said that the development of the energy sector is a top priority for the government, and efforts would be made to ensure the welfare of employees, providing them with full support.



He said this during a meeting with Wapda Hydro Union Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delegation led by Chairman Haji Iqbal Khan.



The meeting focused on the issues faced by Wapda employees, particularly the shortage of staff within the department.



The delegation briefed the Governor about the challenges faced by employees, including the shortage of recruitment, issues related to salaries and allowances, and the overall impact on staff performance.



They emphasized that the lack of resolution to these issues was adversely affecting the employees’ work efficiency.



Governor Faisal Karim Kundi assured the delegation that serious measures would be taken to address the concerns of Wapda employees.



Meanwhile, the delegation from the Sikh community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Baba Ji Gurpal Singh, met with the Governor, Faisal Karim Kundi.



During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Governor about the issues and challenges faced by the Sikh community in the province.



The Sikh delegation also presented a traditional “Chadar” to the Governor as a symbol of respect.



They requested the Governor’s intervention for the construction of the cremation grounds at Attock and Bara Roads, emphasizing the importance of these sites for the Sikh community.



Additionally, the delegation requested the Governor to assist in the re-checking of exams for nearly 33 Sikh students enrolled in the Pharmacy department at Peshawar University.



Governor Faisal Karim Kundi assured the delegation that the government considers all minorities, including the Sikh community, as equal citizens of Pakistan.



He praised the valuable contributions of all minorities, particularly the Sikh community, in the province.



The Governor further emphasized that the government is taking steps to make minority youth respected citizens of the country.



He reassured that the religious, social, and personal rights of all minorities, including the Sikh community, are being fully protected in the province.



Similarly, Tariq Javed, Member/Commissioner of the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHRC), called on Governor Kundi.



During the meeting, Tariq Javed briefed the Governor on the department’s efforts and initiatives for the protection of human rights in the province.



The discussion also covered the legislative process concerning the Child Restraint Act in the provincial assembly.



Various proposals were presented for strengthening the provincial government’s policies and ensuring effective implementation of human rights protection at the local level.



During the meeting, Tariq Javed presented the NCHRC Act of 2012 to the Governor, highlighting its significance in safeguarding human rights.



Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stressed the importance of ensuring the protection of children’s and women’s rights, particularly focusing on the effective enforcement of the Child Rights Act.



He emphasized that full implementation of all human rights laws is essential for the well-being and development of society.



The Governor concluded by saying that no society can progress without guaranteeing the protection of fundamental human rights.

Serena Chowk Interchange; work on underpass at Khyayaban-e-Soharwardy road near completion

Islamabad: The work on the underpass at Khayaban-e-Soharwardy Road, along with the carpeting of connected access roads, is nearing completion on Serena Chowk Interchange project.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials informed the authority's chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa during his visit to review the ongoing construction work at the Serena Chowk Interchange project.

Accompanied by senior officials, the chairman was briefed on the current status and pace of the development efforts.

The chairman instructed that slip roads and access routes be opened promptly to facilitate public convenience.

Randhawa also emphasized the importance of starting horticulture and beautification work at both interchange sites prior to their inauguration.

The Jinnah Avenue Interchange project is advancing steadily, with transoms and concrete work on the flyover in its final stages. Officials revealed that the installation of girders on the flyover would commence shortly.

The chairman underscored the importance of maintaining high-quality standards and completing the projects within the stipulated timeline.

He expressed confidence that the completion of these initiatives would alleviate traffic congestion in Islamabad and provide residents with smooth, signal-free travel.

19 Khwarij terrorists killed in 3 separate engagements in KP, 3 soldiers embrace martyrdom: ISPR

Rawalpindi: The Security Forces killed 19 Khwarij terrorists in three separate engagements in Khyber Pakhunkhwa province where as three soldiers embraced martyrdom during intense fire exchange.

'On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in general area Matani, Peshawar District. During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and resultantly, eight Khwarij were sent to hell,' said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release.

Another intelligence based operation was conducted in general area Baizai, Mohmand District. In ensuing fire exchange, eight Khwarij were effectively engaged and neutralised by the security forces.

'In third engagement in Karak District, own troops effectively engaged Khwarij location as a result of which three Khwarij were sent to hell,' it said.

'However, during intense fire exchange, three brave sons of soil, Lance Havaldar Abbas Ali (age: 38 years, resident of District Ghizer), Naik Muhammad Nazir (age: 37 years, resident of District Skardu) and Naik Muhammad Usman (age: 37 years, resident of District Attock), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat,' the press release further said.

'Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,' it said.
