Baidarie holds session on women’s economic empowerment

Sialkot: Baidarie (a non-governmental organization) successfully organized a district-level stakeholder session on ‘Women’s Economic Empowerment and Protection of Home-Based Workers’ under the project ‘Catalyzing Growth for Women Economic Empowerment in District Sialkot (Punjab), Pakistan,’ with support from UN Women Pakistan.



The session brought together stakeholders to discuss ways to promote women’s economic participation and strengthen the livelihoods of home-based workers in the district.



Speaking on the occasion, Fizan Akber, Senior Vice President of the Sialkot Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry, shared his views with the participants and highlighted the importance of creating stronger market linkages, developing skills and expanding business opportunities for women home-based workers.



He emphasized that improved access to markets, skills development and appropriate business support can play an important role in enhancing women’s economic participation and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.



The session provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange views and explore measures aimed at supporting women workers and promoting greater economic empowerment in Sialkot.
