Haripur: A dead body was recovered from a drum found in Ali Khan Canal within the jurisdiction of Sarai Saleh Police Station, police said on Saturday.
According to initial information, the body was found inside a drum in the canal, prompting local residents to inform the authorities. Police reached the spot along with Rescue 1122 personnel and recovered the body from the canal.
The rescue personnel and police subsequently shifted the body to the Trauma Centre for necessary legal and medical procedures.
Police said the identity of the deceased had not yet been established. Efforts were under way to ascertain the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
