Sialkot: Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Muhammad Zulqarnain Langrial visited Daska, reviewed installation of streetlights at Circular Road, ongoing development projects and cleanliness in the city were reviewed and heard the problems and complaints of the citizens regarding the Revenue Department in the Revenue Public Service Court in Tehsil Complex Daska.

Assistant Commissioner Daska Mahim Mushtaq also accompanied him.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the Basic Health Centers Glotian and Talhara, checked the attendance of the staff and also inspected the medical facilities and stock of medicines provided to the patients coming for treatment.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain Langrial also reviewed the field schedule of the vaccinator under the EPI program for immunization of various diseases.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain Langrial also inspected the under-construction academic block at Quaid-e-Azam Divisional Public School Jaisarwala Daska and reviewed the quality and speed of the construction work.

Rawalpindi: City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi issued over 8,000 challans under special campaign against unfit Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) and heavy vehicles during December.

According to a CTP spokesman, 16 fatal road accidents occurred including six in the city area within the limits of CTP during December. Eight accidents occurred due to negligence and carelessness of the drivers of heavy vehicles and PSVs, speeding, one-way violation and wrong overtaking. 16 persons lost their lives in the fatal road accidents, he informed.

He said that City Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Beenish Fatima sent a letter to the concerned authorities requesting to fix entry hours on the main roads of the rural areas like the timing restriction for heavy vehicles in the city area so that fatal road accidents could be prevented and the loss of precious lives could be controlled.

In addition, on the special orders of the CTO Rawalpindi, a 3-day training workshop would also be organized at the Traffic Headquarters Race Course in which heavy and public service drivers across the city would be made aware of the causes of the accidents, preventive measures, and casualties so that such fatal accidents could be controlled.

He informed that 21 persons were injured in 19 other road accidents reported in December.

CTP Rawalpindi is taking all possible steps to prevent road accidents and also spreading awareness through the Traffic Education Wing about preventive measures.

He urged the citizens to obey traffic rules and demonstrate patience and tolerance on the roads.

Sargodha: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) discarded 200 kilograms unhygienic meat during a operation at Chak no 107 NB here on Thursday.

According to PFA press release issued, acting on a tip-off, a team caught a vehicle loaded with meat near Chak no 107-NB check post. The team inspected and found the meat unhealthy.A case got registered against the accused.

The PFA officials said that all possible efforts were being made to ensure the availability of good quality food items to the masses across the division.

Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) would make joint efforts for formulation of economic policies and removing the irritants haunting the business community.

This was stated by Rehan Naseem Bharara, president Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) in a meeting with KCCI President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani. The two sides discussed overall economic situation in the country with a special focus on business-related issues.

The FCCI president said the government must consult the business community to formulate long-term, workable and result-oriented policies to stabilise the economy. He said that the FCCI and the KCCI, in collaboration with other chambers, would also help the government in the budget formulation for the next financial year. He said that the steps would be proposed so that the government could achieve its economic goals within the stipulated time frame. He also decided to bolster mutual relations among the business community and collaborate to formulate policies to provide maximum facilitation to the trade and industry.

Dera ismail khan: The field operation of Pakistan's 7th Agriculture Census has been launched in the district and will continue until February 10, 2025.

Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Muhammad Fasih Ishaq Abassi who along with District Coordinator Muhammad Irfan, and Divisional Coordinator Omar Khan inaugurated the field operation of the census said the census was aimed at gathering accurate and reliable data for policymaking in the agricultural sector.

He said the agriculture census was the first integrated digital count in the country's history, which would also include large landowners and livestock holders.

The AC praised the efforts of all relevant departments and emphasized the importance of the census. He urged the enumerators to carry out their national duty with dedication to ensure the success of the census.

Under this program, 311 master trainers were trained in Islamabad, and at the district level, 6,500 agriculture census staff and 1,368 supervisors received training.

Agriculture contributes 24% to Pakistan's GDP, and nearly 40 million people are associated with this sector.

The country ranks 9th in the world for rice production, and the production of other key crops such as wheat, potatoes, and onions is also significant.

The agriculture census is expected to enhance the country's agricultural productivity and help reduce food scarcity.

This census will not only contribute to the improvement of the country's agriculture but also play a crucial role in addressing the issue of food scarcity.

Peshawar: The Anti-Corruption Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched an operation following reports of fraudulent bank accounts created for ghost employees at Khyber Teaching Hospital, causing a financial loss of over PKR 4.8 million to the provincial treasury.

An investigative report revealed that fake accounts were opened to withdraw salaries for ghost employees. The scam resulted in a loss of Rs 4,838,302 to provincial kitty.

FIRs have been registered against the accused including Zarghoon Shah, Syed Haris Shah and a bank employee Ashfaq Nadeem.

The Anti Corruption department had arrested Zarghoon Shah while efforts were underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
