Gilgit:Secretary Health Gilgit-Baltistan Asifullah Khan has issued a stern warning to health department employees, instructing them to refrain from engaging in any political activities.

He emphasized that the primary duty of government employees is to serve the public and their focus should remain on patient care and medical services.

Asifullah Khan stated that if any employee wishes to pursue a career in politics and serve the people through that platform, they should first resign from their government position, as participation in political activities is strictly prohibited for government employees under existing regulations.

He further directed doctors and medical staff to dedicate their skills solely to patient treatment and healthcare services.

The health department officials and employees have been urged to strictly adhere to these guidelines.

Muzaffargarh:The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) intensified its efforts to ensure safe and quality food.

Inspections were conducted across DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, and Layyah, resulting in penalties for violations of food safety standards.

In Kot Chutta, grocery stores were fined Rs30,000 for selling expired items and banned Chinese salt, while a grinding unit in Khayaban-e-Mumtaz was fined Rs10,000 for missing records. A milk shop on Jatoi Road, Muzaffargarh, faced a Rs. 20,000 penalty for selling substandard milk, and a manufacturing unit in Mohalla Muslim Colony was fined Rs. 15,000 for storing untraceable salt. On M.M. Road, Kot Addu, a hotel was fined Rs. 10,000 for using adulterated spices, and a drink corner in Layyah faced a Rs. 10,000 fine for poor hygiene.

During the operations, 13 kilograms of expired food items were destroyed. Citizens are encouraged to report food-related complaints to the PFA helpline at 1223, it added.

Dera ghazi khan:Three Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) capsule trailers caught fire and two of them blew up with a bang causing the death of an elderly man and minor burns to two rescuers at Shinwari pump along traffic-busy Indus Highway in Kot Chutta tehsil of district Dera Ghazi Khan on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, a day after an LPG gas tanker blast in Multan left six people dead and over 30 injured.

Waqas Khaleeq, media coordinator, the Rescue 1122 DG Khan told reporter that three LPG capsule trailers were parked at the pump on Indus Highway and one of them caught fire after gas leakage. The LPG trailer then exploded and flames caught another LPG trailer parked near it. By this time, rescuers had reached the spot upon receiving the information and orders from Commissioner DG Khan Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry. The second gas capsule also met a blast and the flames caught the third LPG capsule.

An elderly man, who was watching the LPG capsules in flames, caught fire due to the blast and died.

A fire vehicle, a motorcycle ambulance and a rescue ambulance reached the spot immediately from a nearby station while four more fire vehicles, a rescue vehicle, and additional fire vehicles from Rescue 1122 Rajanpur and Jampur were called.

Staff of the Shinwari pump and workers of a nearby hotel were immediately rushed to safer places while police cordoned off the area and stopped traffic on both sides of the Indus Highway by placing barriers and deployment of police staff.

Rescuers remained busy for hours and extinguished the fire. Total six fire vehicles, two rescue vehicles and additional staff were deployed in controlling the situation under supervision of District Emergency Officer Dera Ghazi Khan in the presence of Assistant Commissioner Kot Chutta Junaid Khan.

The driver of the LPG capsule trailer that had first suffered gas leakage, fire and blast escaped from the scene.

Meanwhile, commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry and DC Usman Khalid issued an alert for teaching hospital Dera Ghazi Khan, THQ hospital Kot Chutta and nearby health centers.

A video shared on social media showed all the three LPG capsule trailers were parked close to each other while another video showed how one capsule on fire blew up with flames and smoke could be seen several meters up in the air.

Rescuers said, the fire has been put out and traffic on the Indus Highway restored. The rescuers who suffered minor burns were provided medical aid.

Multan:Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan ordered the commencement of work on a waste water treatment plant.

Presiding over a meeting with representatives from PMU, WASA officials, and a German company here Tuesday, he emphasized that resolving sewerage issues and ensuring easy access to clean water for the public are top priorities. He noted that Multan, a historic city, faces a deteriorating sewerage system at various points but added that new schemes were underway to address the issues.

To protect future generations from environmental pollution, the construction of a sludge carrier alongside the water treatment plant was essential, the commissioner said. The design of the waste water treatment plant should prioritize safety and energy efficiency. Moreover, the plant's engineering design and feasibility study should take into account the city's population size and topography, he added.

A briefing was also provided by the consultant team of the Asian Development Bank under the Intermediate Cities Infrastructure Investment Program.

Dera ismail khan:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday stressed the need for forging unity among all the stakeholders to achieve Saraiki province.

He was addressing as the chief guest at the 8th 'Annual Azeem Saraikistan Talent Award Show-2025' organized by the Saraikistan Students Movement (SSM) and Saraiki Youth Parliament Dera Ismail Khan, held here at the Gomal University's Auditorium Hall.

The governor said the Saraiki language was the most widely spoken language in the country, used extensively across all four provinces of the country.

He resolved that the PPP would continue to stand with the Seraiki brothers and sisters to resolve their issues.

He emphasized the need for unity to achieve the creation of a Saraiki province and expressed disappointment that the parliamentarians who secured votes in the name of the Saraiki province in the 2018 elections did not raise the issue effectively in the parliament.

He highlighted the efforts of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which had already passed a resolution in both national and provincial assemblies in favor of the Saraiki province.

Faisal Karim Kundi stated that PPP had not only advocated for the rights of the Seraiki people but has also taken significant steps to lift the ban on student unions.

He said that PPP leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such as Ahmed Karim Kundi and Ihsan Khan Miankhel, had already presented a resolution in the provincial assembly on this matter.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Defense, Fatehullah Khan Miankhel, called Gomal University a great gift from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, acknowledging the university's significant role in the region's development.

He also opposed turning educational institutions into political battlegrounds and condemned the provincial government's move to impose a 45% tax on landowners.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, MNA Fatahullah Khan Miankhel, PPP leader Malik Farhan Afzal Dhap along with faculty members, awarded shields to students for their outstanding achievements.

The students also presented poetry and tableau in Saraiki, which added to the event's cultural vibrancy.

Bahawalpur: The inaugural ceremony for the Solid Waste Outsourcing System in Tehsil Bahawalpur Saddar was held under the Clean Punjab Program initiative as per the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Parliamentary Secretary of the Punjab Board of Revenue MPA Mian Muhammad Shoaib Awaisi inaugurated the solid waste outsourcing system. Political leaders, the Assistant Commissioner of Bahawalpur Saddar, CEO Bahawalpur Waste Management Company, and officials and sanitary staff from the company contractors were present at the event.

In his address, Shoaib Awaisi stated that with modern machinery, an increase in manpower, and a systematic strategy, the disposal of garbage in both urban and rural areas of Tehsil Bahawalpur Saddar would be improved, providing residents with daily cleanliness services and a healthier environment. He urged the local community to play their part in improving cleanliness arrangements.

Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Saddar Ahmad Sher Gondal said that in line with the Chief Minister of Punjab's vision, efforts are being made across the province to enhance the cleanliness system under the Clean Punjab initiative, which aims to provide uniform cleanliness facilities in urban and rural areas.

Earlier, CEO of the Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Naeem Akhtar provided the attendees with a detailed briefing regarding the Clean Punjab Program. He explained that outsourcing solid waste management services in Tehsil Bahawalpur Saddar would ensure a clean environment for the local people. He also mentioned that sanitary staff equipped with modern operational vehicles would be assigned to cleanliness services in Bahawalpur Saddar. Subsequently, the attendees inspected the new machinery for the solid waste management services.
