Peshawar: The annual performance review meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Service (Rescue 1122) was held at the provincial headquarters here Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by Director General Rescue 1122, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan stated that Rescue 1122 provided timely services in over 241,000 emergencies during the year 2024.

Sharing details of these emergencies, he said rescue teams responded to over 151,000 medical emergencies and more than 22,000 traffic accidents.

Besides, over 52,000 referral emergencies, 4781 fire incidents, 699 drowning incidents, 3966 crime-related incidents, 277 cases of building and roof collapses,146 incidents involving explosions, including gas and cylinder blasts, 5661 other emergencies were successfully tackled.

Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan further informed that Rescue 1122 transported over 245,000 injured and patients to hospitals in a timely manner.

Additionally, through its Health Ambulance (Referral Service), critically injured and patients were shifted to better treatment facilities both within districts and to major hospitals in other districts. However, 4918 individuals lost their lives in various incidents.

The Director General emphasized that Rescue 1122 is providing equal services to the public not only in urban areas but also in merged districts and former FATA regions.

Focus on Tourist Sites, Rescue 1122 has also established rescue stations at various tourist destinations across the province, where both tourists and local residents are being provided with emergency assistance.

Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan concluded his address by reaffirming that the mission of Rescue 1122 is to protect lives and property, and the organization will continue to serve the public with the same dedication in the future.

Dera ismail khan: The district's emergency service rescue 1122 on Wednesday issued an annual performance report, featuring a total of 8914 emergencies tackled by the rescue service last year.

During these emergencies, the rescue emergency service provided first medical aid to about 8905 patients under the leadership of the District Emergency Officer Eng.Fasihullah.

Sharing an yearly performance report, the spokesman of the rescue emergency service said that the rescue emergency teams promptly tackled all these emergencies and the emergency response time was recorded at seven minutes and 15 seconds.

During this period the rescue service responded to different kinds of emergencies which include 6643 medical, 1701 road traffic accidents, 199 fire eruption, 174 bullet injury or fight, five building collapse, four cylinder blast, 31 drownings and 157 different recovery incidents.

In 2024, the spokesman said a total of 766231 calls were received by the emergency service, but only 8914 were emergency calls.

During this period, the rescue 1122 handled a total of 908 referral-related emergencies, in which 829 patients shifted within the district while in 79 emergency cases, 954 patients were taken to hospitals in other districts in 2024.

He said the rescue 1122 teams were fully equipped with all necessary equipment and they had been efficiently rendering their services during emergencies.

He said that rescue teams also arranged several training sessions on first aid or tackling other emergencies for employees of different departments.

Abbottabad: Ayub Medical College (AMC) Abbottabad on Wednesday has announced the schedule for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) to recruit candidates for various positions. The test, advertised in November 2024, is scheduled to take place on January 4 and 5, 2025.

According to the AMC notification, the candidates who applied for the advertised positions are advised to visit the official website of the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) for detailed information, including test timings, venues, and important instructions.

The college administration has urged all applicants to carefully review the guidelines provided on the ETEA website and ensure their timely attendance on the day of the examination.

Peshawar: Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi has directed to expedite work on E-Transfer System and said it would ensure transparency in posting and transfers.

Chairing a performance review meeting of Higher Education Department, he said that transfers would be made after completion of E-Transfer System that was meant to ensure transparency and merit in the whole process.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary Higher Education, Kamran Afridi, Special Secretary and concerned officials.

Minister also directed to identify colleges that lack basic amenities and said that efforts would be made to address shortcomings in these institutions.

He also directed concerned committee to speed up work on curriculum reviewing.

Expressing satisfaction over performance of higher education department he said that irregularity and corruption would not be tolerated.

He urged teachers to further improve performance and work with dedication realizing their responsibilities.
