Islamabad: The city of Lahore is abuzz with excitement as citizens lined up in large numbers to purchase tickets for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 where overwhelming demand for tickets has left organizers and fans alike thrilled, with many praising the government for their efforts in hosting the prestigious tournament.

According to the report aired by PTV News Channel, the massive turnout of citizens to purchase ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tickets is a testament to the government's successful efforts in promoting sports and hosting international events in Pakistan.

The report highlighted the efficient ticketing system and arrangements put in place by the government, which have ensured a smooth and hassle-free experience for the fans.

Citizens gathered outside the ticket counters were seen praising the efforts of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi for bringing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to Pakistan.

"Mohsin Naqvi has done a fantastic job in convincing the ICC to hold the tournament in Pakistan," said one citizen. "We are thrilled to see the world's best teams playing in our country, and we owe it all to Naqvi s efforts."

The ticket sale counters, set up at various locations across the city witnessed long queues of enthusiastic fans, all eager to get their hands on the coveted tickets. The scene was chaotic, yet festive, with fans chanting slogans and waving Pakistani flags, said an excited cricket fan while purchasing tickets.

"I have been waiting in line for hours, but it is worth it," said a cricket enthusiast.

"The ICC Champions Trophy is a huge event, and I am excited to see the world's best teams in action. The government has done a great job in organizing the tournament, and we are all grateful for that," said a citizen of

Lahore.

"We are thrilled to see the overwhelming response from the fans," said a PCB spokesperson.

"The ICC Champions Trophy is a premier event, and we are committed to making it a success. We are working closely with the government and other stakeholders to ensure that the tournament is a memorable experience for

all."

As the ticket sales continue, fans are advised to purchase their tickets from authorized counters or online platforms to avoid any inconvenience.

With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just around the corner, the excitement is building up, and Lahore is all set to host a spectacular event that will be remembered for years to come.

Another citizen added, "It is been 28 long years since Pakistan last hosted a major ICC event, and we are committed to making it a house-full tournament, adding, the excitement is palpable and we can not wait to cheer on our team and show the world our hospitality."

Islamabad: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, chaired an important meeting on Wednesday at the zonal offices of the Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Unit (ARDU) and Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) to review crime control strategies.

A public relations officer told reporter that the DIG Tariq directed officers to launch an indiscriminate crackdown on car and motorcycle thieves, land grabbers, drug peddlers, illegal arms holders, and those involved in kite flying and selling.

DIG Tariq ordered decisive action against organized criminal groups and stressed the need to arrest absconding suspects without delay.

He said crime meetings were held late at night in Sawan Zone, Rural Zone, ARDU, and AVLU, attended by zonal SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and unit in-charges. During the meetings, DIG Tariq reviewed the performance of all zones and instructed officers to enhance crime control measures and improve investigation standards.

He emphasized the timely submission of case challans and directed officers to intensify operations against vehicle theft, drug trafficking, and illegal weapons.

DIG emphasized officers must integrate modern technology with traditional policing methods to strengthen investigations, particularly in serious crimes.

He stressed the immediate arrest of absconding suspects and urged officers to ensure strong prosecution by collecting solid evidence.

DIG Tariq further directed officers to ensure the prompt resolution of citizens' complaints at police stations, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy against crimes involving women and children.

He ordered strict action against kite sellers, professional beggars, and their facilitators, while also calling for enhanced patrolling to improve security.

DIG Tariq warned that misconduct, corruption, and inappropriate behaviour would not be tolerated, urging officers to maintain discipline and professionalism.

He reiterated that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority and that any negligence in this regard would not be accepted.

Islamabad: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday paid tribute to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ and K) for their relentless struggle to claim their legitimate right to self-determination, in line with the resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

In a special message marking Kashmir Solidarity Day, he said the freedom of Kashmir from Indian oppression was an undeniable truth and Pakistan would always stand with the people of Kashmir in their just cause.

Today, Ahsan Iqbal remarked, that the entire nation of Pakistan was reaffirming its commitment to unwavering solidarity with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, who continued their fight for self-determination in accordance with the UNSC's resolutions and against India's oppressive occupation.

The minister said the Kashmiri people were engaged in an unprecedented and historic struggle for freedom and their sacrifices kept the flame of freedom alive. 'I am confident that the day will come when their dreams will be realized."

"On Kashmir Solidarity Day, the people of Pakistan honor the immense sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people, who have endured brutal Indian oppression and tyranny for more than 75 years. Their patience, courage, and resilience will be etched in golden letters in history," Ahsan Iqbal said.

He further assured the people of occupied Kashmir that Pakistan would continue to extend full support at every diplomatic, political and moral front in their pursuit of self-determination, steadfast in its principled stance.

He reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause and vowed to raise awareness about the atrocities committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

He further condemned India's discriminatory laws and attitude towards minorities.

He specifically criticized India's "black laws" that perpetuate oppression and violence against Kashmiris and other minority groups.

Awais emphasized that these laws, such as the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens are designed to disenfranchise and marginalize minority communities.

In his exclusive talk with PTV, Mirza Mushtaq emphasized the need for international attention to the plight of Kashmiris and stressed that the true picture of the human rights situation in Kashmir must be revealed, highlighting the suffering of the Kashmiri people under Indian rule.

Mushtaq demanded that UN defense observers and other human rights organizations should visit Kashmir to witness the true picture of human rights abuses and suffering of the Kashmiri people.

He revealed that the Indian government is deliberately hiding the true picture of human rights abuses in Kashmir, concealing the extent of atrocities, torture and oppression inflicted upon the Kashmiri people.
