Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain on Tuesday visited Jamia Muhammadiya in the federal capital and reviewed the ongoing examinations conducted under the auspices of Wifaq-ul-Madaris.

During the visit, the minister expressed satisfaction with the examination system managed by Wifaq-ul-Madaris, highlighting its adherence to international academic standards and its role as a model for other educational institutions.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain emphasized the significance of religious seminaries, noting that their curriculum is designed to provide education in a pure and spiritually enriching environment. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by seminaries, mosques, and religious scholars in promoting and preserving Islamic teachings.

'The existence of religious seminaries has been a fundamental part of Muslim society throughout history. Their importance today remains as vital as it was in the past,' he remarked. 'These institutions continue to be the primary centers for imparting authentic Islamic education.'

The minister further stated that seminaries serve as vital institutions that help Muslims safeguard their faith and beliefs. He highlighted the long-standing support of his father, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, for religious scholars and seminaries, emphasizing his father's commitment to advocating for their cause.

He also lauded the contributions of renowned scholars such as Maulana Taqi Usmani and Maulana Hanif Jalandhari in shaping societal values and promoting Islamic teachings.

'Religious seminaries are not just fortresses of Islam and sources of guidance; they are also among the world's largest non-governmental organizations, providing free education, accommodation, food, and healthcare to millions of students,' he noted. 'They are significantly contributing to literacy and education levels in society.'

Chaudhry Salik Hussain also underscored the role of seminaries in preserving Islamic family values and cultural heritage, describing them as a shield against the influence of non-Islamic traditions. He pointed out that female enrollment in seminaries has surpassed that of male students and that these institutions are offering education to girls in remote areas where access to schooling was previously limited.

Highlighting the need for modern education in seminaries, the minister called for the introduction of vocational training programs alongside religious studies. 'It is essential to incorporate courses that equip students with professional skills in addition to religious education,' he said.

He assured that the government is committed to supporting seminaries in integrating contemporary education into their curriculum. 'My ministry's doors are always open for religious scholars, and we are prepared to extend all possible assistance to enhance the educational standards of seminaries,' he concluded.

Islamabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Dawood Khan Yousfzai on Tuesday said that the people of Pakistan have demonstrated unwavering solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for decades, a testament to the deep bond of love and brotherhood.

Every year, on February 5, Pakistanis across the globe come together to demonstrate their solidarity with the Kashmiri people. This act of unity not only boosts the morale of the Kashmiri people but also reinforces the hope that their rights will one day be realized, he added.

Yousfzai said that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have expressed their gratitude to the Pakistani nation for standing by them at every step, offering both moral and political support. Pakistanis have consistently raised their voices for the rights of Kashmiris, acting as a steadfast wall of support.

He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have faced significant hardships, and the consistent backing from Pakistan has been a source of encouragement for them.

Dawood Khan said that this annual display of solidarity not only boosts the morale of the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir but also strengthens their resolve to continue their struggle for freedom. The enthusiasm and passion with which Pakistanis commemorate this day, both within the country and abroad, serve as a source of encouragement for Kashmiris, uplifting their spirits and reaffirming their hope for freedom.

Dawood Khan Yousfzai said that we remain hopeful that such demonstrations of unity will continue with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). By the grace of Allah Almighty, the day is not far when the Kashmiri people will achieve their rightful freedom. InshaAllah, when that day comes, the people of Jammu and Kashmir will respond to Pakistan's love and support in the best possible way.

Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police on Tuesday offered the funeral prayer of Constable Zafar Iqbal at the Police Lines Headquarters with full honors.

A public relation officer told reporter that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters and Security, and a large number of police officers attended the funeral.

He said that after the funeral, a police contingent and senior officials carried the coffin in a traditional manner.

He further stated that the body was later sent to the deceased's native area for burial.

The IGP Rizvi extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the department's full support during this difficult time.

Islamabad: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and Daffodil International University (DIU) Dhaka, Bangladesh, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the cooperation in Science and Technology, higher education and support Palestinian students through the COMSTECH Palestine Fellowship Program

According to the COMSTECH, the agreement was formalized during a ceremony at DIU in Dhaka, Bangladesh, attended by Coordinator General of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary and Vice Chancellor of DIU Prof. M. Lutfar Rahman including senior leadership of the university.

Under this initiative, DIU will enroll up to 35 Palestinian students, providing them with fully funded educational opportunities to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Islamabad: 'Digital Photographic and Painting Exhibition and Competition' held at Information Service Academy (ISA) on Tuesday showcased thought-provoking paintings and photographs, capturing both the natural beauty of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIoJK) and the struggles faced by its people.

The exhibition was organized by the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The exhibition served as a powerful tribute to the resilience, courage, and unyielding spirit of Kashmiris.

On this occasion, Executive Director General of DEMP, Mubashir Tauqeer, as a chief guest, spoke about the significance of art in raising awareness about Kashmiri's struggle.

"Art has always been at the forefront of raising awareness about struggles. The photographers and artists whose work we are showcasing today have used their craft not only to capture the beauty of IIoJK but also to shed light on the reality faced by its people," he said.

Highlighting the importance of storytelling through visual mediums, Tauqeer stated, "The importance of today's event- the Digital Photographic Exhibition and Painting Competition-cannot be overstated. Art, in all its forms, has always been a powerful medium for social change, for telling stories that words alone cannot."

'Through these exhibitions, we not only celebrate the artistic expression of the human spirit but also provide a platform to highlight he struggles of the people of IIoJK', he observed.

He further praised the students and artists for their creativity and vision, emphasizing their role in keeping Kashmir's story alive through artistic expression.

"Your creativity, your vision, and your commitment to raising awareness through art are deeply commendable. Let us stand united today, and always, in our solidarity with IIoJK," he concluded.

He said, 'Kashmir Solidarity Day holds deep significance for all of us, it is a time to express our unwavering support for our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, who continue to endure hardships in their struggle for justice, peace, dignity and right to freedom'.

A total of 56 students from various educational institutions participated in the painting and photography competition, demonstrating their artistic talent and passion for the Kashmir cause.

The winners of the competition were Tanzila Shahid from Allama Iqbal Open University who secured first prize, Umm-e-Hani from Riphah International University obtained second prize while Alina Tariq from National university of Medial Sciences got third prize.

Their artworks were praised for their depth, creativity, and strong messaging, portraying both the struggles and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Earlier, a documentary titled `The Story of Kashmir' was also presented highlighting the Indian atrocities against Kashmiri people.

Director General, DEMP, Imrana Wazir, Director Human Resource, Associated Press of Pakistan, Farina Mughal and others senior officials of the ministry attended the event.

The exhibition attracted diplomats, journalists, artists, and students, all gathered to express their unwavering support for Kashmir.

The event concluded with a pledge to continue advocating for the rights and freedom of Kashmiris through art, media, and diplomatic initiatives.
