Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has challenged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to present a list of just 10 development projects, stating that if they do, the Punjab government will promote them itself.

She emphasized that Punjab's media campaign is grounded in reality, while those with "zero performance" should be embarrassed to criticize Punjab's governance.

Her remarks came in response to a statement by Barrister Saif.

Azma Bokhari stated that instead of constantly targeting Punjab, the so-called spokespersons should present the performance of their government. The fact that they only criticize Punjab is proof they have nothing substantial to showcase about KP's achievements.

She added that those whose governance is marked by theatrics, empty promises, and conspiracies against the nation have no standing to comment on Punjab's progress.

The Information Minister highlighted Punjab's tangible results, noting that under Maryam Nawaz's leadership, significant positive changes have been made in the lives of Punjab's residents within just one year.

She further said that every aspect of our media campaign reflects Punjab's on-ground realities. Meanwhile, KP's treasury has been wasted on sit-ins, protests, and long marches for over a decade.

Issuing a direct challenge, she declared, "If the KP government can list its 10 development projects, we will personally promote them in Punjab. Instead of engaging in blame games, the KP government should focus on providing real relief to its people."

Lahore: On the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt on Wednesday visited Mayo Hospital Lahore and met with a 22-year-old girl from Sargodha who was allegedly subjected to sexual assault. During her visit, Hina Parvez Butt inquired about the survivor's health and assured her family that the Punjab government would ensure complete justice. She stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif had taken strict notice of the tragic incident and instructed law enforcement agencies to take immediate legal action. According to the District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha, the prime suspect, Samar, had been arrested, and investigations are ongoing to identify other accomplices. The victim's DNA samples have been sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) in Lahore to ensure a transparent investigation. She said: "As chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, my top priority is to ensure a safe environment for women in Punjab."

Lahore: A report of a self-immolation incident has come to surface which occurred in front of the Lahore High Court.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to provide best medical treatment facilities to Muhammad Asif.

According to the report, yesterday (February 25) at around 11 am, Muhammad Asif, son of Muhammad Aslam, resident of Kot Muhammad Hussain, resident of Khanewal, poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire in front of the Honourable Judge of the Lahore High Court, Justice Shujja Ali Khan. Rescue 1122 immediately reached the spot and shifted the victim to Mayo Hospital, Lahore.

Initial medical examination revealed that 30 to 40 percent of Muhammad Asif's body was burnt. The initial report stated that Muhammad Asif was an employee of Nestle Company and was removed from his post. Muhammad Asif had filed a writ petition in the Lahore High Court against his dismissal. On the day of the incident, the Honourable Judge had fixed the next hearing of the case for April 8, 2025.

It is reported that after the adjournment hearing, Muhammad Asif committed self-immolation. Further investigation revealed that Muhammad Asif had hidden the petrol used for self-immolation in a Nestle bottle in his pocket. Muhammad Asif is currently undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, where his treatment and physical condition are being monitored.

The chief minister has directed the authorities to ensure he receives the best possible medical facilities.

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has hailed Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz's one-year performance as a "revolutionary chapter in Pakistan's history," stating that the CM has shattered multiple records of success within a single year.

"In Pakistan's 76-year history, no leader has initiated and completed as many projects as CM Maryam Nawaz has accomplished in just one year. While Maryam Nawaz is setting benchmarks in public service, her opponents are busy planting flags in the soil of verbal hostility," she said.

She emphasized that CM Maryam Nawaz has redefined politics by transforming it into public service, introducing a new trend of governance. "Pakistan's youth demand electric bikes, scholarships, laptops, and accessible business loans - not petrol bombs, slingshots, or spiked batons. The younger generation has awakened, they have outright rejected the politics of arson, blockades, violence, vandalism, and chaos. Maryam Nawaz has emerged as a beacon of hope and aspiration for the youth," Bokhari asserted.

The Information Minister further said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz cares for the people like a mother. A mother always wishes to see her children prosper and thrive. No mother wants to see her children in police stations or jails, she added.

Azma Bokhari further reiterated that the Punjab government is committed to accelerating the journey of progress to ensure every citizen has equal access to quality life, education, and employment opportunities.

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday dismissed the bail petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in two cases related to the May 9 incidents.

ATC Judge Arshad Javed dismissed the bail petitions due to non-prosecution, as Qureshi's counsel repeatedly failed to appear for arguments despite multiple opportunities.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi had filed post-arrest bail petitions in cases related to the torching of a container near National Park Gulberg and delivering provocative speeches and committing vandalism at Sherpao Bridge during the May 9 violence.

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday convicted Muhammad Zubair in a hate material case, sentencing him to three years in prison and imposing a fine of Rs 50,000.

ATC Judge Arshad Javed announced the verdict after hearing arguments and reviewing the evidence presented by the prosecution.

The prosecution informed the court that Zubair had links with a proscribed organization and was found in possession of hate material.

The Counter-Terrorism Department had registered a case against the accused on charges of possessing and distributing hate material.
