PESHAWAR: The Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Finance and Energy Himayatullah Khan on Tuesday expressed annoyance over the two-year performance of KP Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL).
Presiding over a meeting of the KPOGCL, the Advisor asked the Secretary of Energy and Power Zulfiqar Ali Shah as a member of the Board of Governors to submit a report on what KPOGCL has done in the two years.
He said that the employees of KPOGCL were twice as of the company working at the national level but unfortunately, the performance of KPOGCL was comparatively very low.
He said, “This is the tax money of the people of KP, digging a well costs more than thirty million dollars.”
The province was not so wealthy nor was it the job of the KPOGCL to pursue oil drilling, he added.
