Commissioner orders prompt resolution of public complaints

Faisalabad: Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen, on Tuesday listened to public grievances and directed the departments concerned to ensure their immediate resolution as unnecessary delays and hurdles in providing relief to citizens would not be tolerated. During a public hearing at the Commissioner Complex, she met citizens, heard their complaints and issued on the spot orders to the departments concerned for prompt redressal of their grievances. She said that doors of Commissioner Office were open to all citizens without discrimination.

She urged people to approach the office without hesitation to present their genuine grievances. She said that resolving public complaints on priority basis remained one of the foremost responsibilities of the divisional administration and directed departmental officers to ensure that citizens received timely relief without avoidable delays. She made it clear that any obstacle in resolving public issues would be viewed seriously, adding that the administration was committed to ensuring efficient, transparent and people-friendly governance in line with the vision of Punjab government.

Expressing displeasure over the unjustified delay in processing some applications, she reprimanded the officers concerned and directed them to improve their performance immediately. The DC also warned the officials against forcing citizens to make repeated visits to government offices for the same matter and said that such practices were unacceptable and would invite strict departmental action if found to be caused by negligence or inefficiency. She reiterated that public service delivery would continue to be monitored closely and that officers would be held accountable for ensuring timely and effective resolution of citizens’ problems.
