Lahore:Lahore Divisional Commissioner Zaid-bin-Maqsood conducted a tour of various city areas to review the ongoing rainwater drainage operations.
He was informed that Lahore recorded 53 mm of rain today, with 50 mm falling specifically at Qurtaba Chowk. The commissioner noted that while some areas of Lahore experienced heavy rainfall, it has now ceased.
The commissioner directed that the drainage operations at Qurtaba Chowk be expedited and emphasized maintaining smooth traffic flow during school times. Additionally, based on the area-wise report, he instructed that more resources be allocated for drainage efforts in affected areas.
The commissioner also confirmed that the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) is actively involved on the ground, utilizing all available resources for effective drainage. The commissioner reviewed the drainage operations at Qurtaba Chowk, inspecting WASA’s scrubbing machines and de-watering sets. He instructed that the generators powering the field machinery should remain fully
operational until the drainage process is completed.
