Court extends judicial remand of PTI leaders in cipher case

ISLAMABAD:A special court on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi till September 26, in the cipher case registered under the Official Secrets Act.



Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the case at District Jail Attock.



The court, in its written order about the hearing, said that the PTI chairman had expressed his satisfaction regarding the behaviour of jail staff with him. The former prime minister stated that he was feeling safe in the jail, and also did not raise any objection about the facilities available to him, it noted.



The court added that the the PTI chairman had requested to increase the duration of the meeting with his wife.



The court ordered the jail administration to improve the facilities for the PTI chairman in the light of its manual.



The order said that the investigation officer of Federal Investigation Agency had requested the court to grant more time for submission of the case challan and, therefore, the case was adjourned till September 26.
