ISLAMABAD:Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon has directed all Assistant Commissioners to conduct daily operations against price gouging, encroachments, and professional beggars in their respective areas.
On Sunday, Assistant Commissioners conducted inspections at 138 places regarding price hikes.
A fine of Rs. 12,000 was imposed on violators, one shop was sealed, one person was arrested and transferred to the police station, and 34 professional beggars were also arrested and transferred to the police station, ICT spokesman Dr Muhammad Abdullah Tabassum said.
Meanwhile, action was also taken against illegal clinics and shisha cafes, with two illegal clinics being sealed.
The operations were also carried out against encroachments, price gouging, and the seizure of more than 6 kg of polythene bags.
Action was also taken against illegal petrol filling agencies and illegal LPG filling stations, with one of the illegal petrol filling agencies being sealed.
Moreover, seven shops were sealed for violating anti-dengue SOPs, and two people were arrested.
The Deputy Commissioner has warned all violators that strict action will be taken against them.
He has also appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration in its efforts to make Islamabad a clean and livable city.
