Crime comparison shows sharp decline in Vehari

District


Burewala:A comparison of police figures for September 2024, 2025 and 2026 shows a significant decline in several major crimes in Vehari district, with the most notable reduction recorded in burglary cases.



According to report, the reported burglary cases fell from 59 in September 2024 and 75 in September 2025 to just four in September 2026, a 93 per cent decline compared with 2024.



Motorcycle snatching cases dropped from 37 in 2024 and 10 in 2025 to five in 2026, showing an 86 per cent reduction. Robbery cases declined from 149 in 2024 and 57 in 2025 to 43 in 2026, while motorcycle theft cases fell from 170 and 105 to 73 respectively.



Livestock theft cases decreased from 70 in 2024 and 60 in 2025 to 57 in 2026.Police said no cases of dacoity, car snatching, car theft or kidnapping for ransom were reported during September 2026.



DPO Vehari Tassawar Iqbal said effective patrolling, snap checking and action against criminal elements were continuing alongside law-and-order duties.
