Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani conducted a detailed inspection of the under-construction Dadhocha Dam project, reviewing progress on site.
He confirmed overall physical execution has reached 92 percent.
During the field visit, the commissioner examined ongoing construction work across key structural components including stone pitching, spillway construction, retaining walls, bridge development, intake-outlet structures and the residential colony, says a press release issued on Friday.
He instructed project engineers and execution force to accelerate remaining civil works to ensure strict adherence to the final completion deadline of December 31 this year.
Highlighting the project’s importance, he said that Dadhocha Dam represents a vital milestone for securing Rawalpindi’s future water supply and mitigating urban shortages. He emphasized that no compromise will be made on construction quality, warning that unexcused administrative or operational delays will not be tolerated.
The commissioner directed concerned departments to maintain seamless inter-agency coordination to resolve technical bottlenecks immediately, while ordering structured weekly reviews of all remaining work packages to meet the year-end timeline.
