ABBOTTABAD:Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Tariq Salam Marwat on Friday issued instructions to all magistrates and concerned departments to take strict action against illegal mines and stone-crushing plants, protection of forests and plantation should be ensured.
He issued these instructions while chairing a meeting regarding mining and power-crushing plants.
The DC said that under the “Nakhra Abbottabad” campaign, steps should be taken to improve the environment, protect forests and plant more trees. In the meeting, officers of Mines and Minerals, Industries, Forests, Environmental Protection Agency, and Labour Department gave a briefing regarding the performance of their departments.
Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad has instructed the officers of concerned departments to accomplish their duties strictly and said that district officers along with the relevant departments should ensure action against the illegal mining and stone crushing plants established in Lora, Havelian, Sherwan, and Abbottabad, he also directed concerned departments to submit a complete report of their performance in the next meeting.
