Attock: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Attock Dr Mudassir Ahmed Shah has taken notice of rising liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices across the district and directed the relevant authorities to ensure its availability to consumers at officially prescribed rates.
In this regard, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Addi. DC (Enforcement) Anam Babar, attended by relevant officials and representatives of the LPG trade.
The meeting reviewed the prevailing LPG prices, sales procedures and implementation of government-prescribed rates. Participants were directed to ensure that LPG was sold strictly at the officially notified prices and that charging consumers more than the prescribed rates would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It was emphasised that LPG was an essential fuel used in daily life, and any unjustified increase in its price could create additional financial difficulties for citizens. The concerned stakeholders were instructed to comply fully with government directives and play their role in ensuring the availability of LPG to the public at the prescribed rates.
Anam directed the relevant authorities to effectively monitor LPG prices and take legal action against those found violating the official rates. She stressed that protecting consumers against profiteering and overcharging was among the key priorities of the district administration.
In line with the directives of DC, the district administration will continue its efforts to regulate LPG prices and ensure sales at government-prescribed rates, providing relief to citizens and ensuring compliance with official pricing regulations in the market.
