BATTAGRAM: A meeting of the District Education Steering Committee on Friday evaluated the performance of the Education Department based on reports from the IMU, leading to several key decisions and emphasizing a 100 per cent literacy rate.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Khan and was attended by the District Monitoring Officer (IMU) for Education Battagram, officers from the Elementary and Secondary Education departments (both male and female), and other pertinent officials.
During the meeting, the committee focused on implementing strategies to reduce absenteeism in schools, evaluating available facilities, and formulating plans for effective Parent-Teacher Councils.
Deputy Commissioner Khan underscored the urgency of filling vacant teaching positions across district schools to ensure that students have access to quality education close to home. He stressed the importance of teachers fulfilling their duties with dedication to realize the ambitious goal of 100 li
teracy in the district.
