Mirpur: The Deputy Commissioner of Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Ch. Haq Nawaz, took decisive action against corruption and misconduct in the district on Thursday.

In this regard, three officials have been suspended from service for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices and dereliction of duties, it was officially said.

According to the details, a junior clerk, Riaz, posted in the office of Tehsildar Bhimber, has been suspended for allegedly receiving an illegal gratification of Rs. 50,000 from a citizen for issuing a State Subject Certificate. An inquiry has been ordered to probe into the matter, and the clerk will face further investigation and potential disciplinary action.

Similarly, two Patwaris, Mubeen Ahmed and Mir Afzal, have also been suspended from service for alleged malpractices and dereliction of duties.

They were posted in the Baghser and Jandala areas, respectively. The Deputy Commissioner has ordered a further probe into the allegations of misconduct against both officials.
