FIA detains two deportees at Lahore airport after failed illegal journey to Italy

Lahore: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration on Sunday detained two Pakistani nationals at Allama Iqbal International Airport after they were deported from Tunisia for attempting to reach Italy through an illegal route.



According to an FIA spokesperson, the deportees,identified as Muhammad Anas and Muhammad Arsalan, arrived in Lahore on emergency passports aboard flight SV734 and were taken into custody by FIA Immigration upon arrival.



During preliminary interrogation, the two men disclosed that they had been residing in Saudi Arabia before traveling to Libya. They later attempted to enter Italy illegally by boat.



However,Tunisian authorities arrested them during the illegal journey and deported them to Pakistan.



The FIA transferred both suspects to the Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Lahore for further investigation and legal action.
