Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, Captain (r) Nadim Nasir, has directed the timely completion of water, sewerage and development schemes under Punjab Development.
During a review meeting on Tuesday chaired by the DC, the Managing Director, WASA, briefed on the latest pace of work on the schemes. The Deputy Director Development also apprised the meeting of the progress of various schemes.
According to the briefing, it was informed that a total of 21 schemes worth over Rs.6.5 billion have been identified, of which 18 have been approved, including revamping, construction and widening of roads.
The DC instructed regular monitoring of the work pace, emphasizing that no compromise would be made on standards and quality. He further announced that the contractors showing poor performance in terms of acceleration and time management would face strict legal action. The deputy commissioner also announced his field visits commencing soon.
The schemes include revamping and construction of roads in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, 5th Road, 6th Road, Rawal Road, Chandni Chowk-Commercial Market Road, Railways Workshop Road, Gordon College Road, and various roads in Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kalar Syedan and Kahuta.
ADC Social Services, Fazail Mudassar, also attended the meeting.
