Sialkot: Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq conducted an early-morning visit to Pasrur on Tuesday and inspected sanitation arrangements in Klasswala and Chawinda areas.
According to a spokesperson, the DC visited narrow streets and markets to review cleanliness and sewerage conditions while seeking direct feedback from local residents. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Mian Sarmad Hussain and Assistant Commissioner Pasrur Sana Sharafat accompanied him during the inspection.
The DC also visited the local dumping site and directed the municipal authorities to complete the desilting of small drains and ensure the regular attendance of field staff.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner suspended a Field Monitoring Officer on the spot over poor performance and negligence in sanitation duties.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the Suthra Punjab programme, Awais Mushtaq warned that zero tolerance would be shown toward dereliction of duty and strict action would continue against negligent staff.
