Hyderabad: An important meeting was held at the DC Office Jamshoro under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Ghazanfar Ali Qadri to review preparations for the upcoming polio vaccination campaign.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the performance of the previous polio campaign in the district was conducted. Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri emphasized that a complete and comprehensive micro-plan should be finalized prior to the launch of the campaign.
He said all necessary measures must be taken to make the upcoming campaign, scheduled to begin next month, more effective so that all children under five years of age across the district can be administered polio drops without fail.
The DC directed police and rangers officials to ensure foolproof security for polio workers during the campaign so that it can be carried out smoothly and successfully without any hindrance.
While briefing the meeting the N-Stop Officer Dr. Kaleem Shaikh informed that the polio campaign will continue from February 2 to February 5, 2026, and that training sessions will also be conducted for polio workers.
The meeting was attended by ADC-I Babar Khan Nizamani, DHO Dr. Pir Manzoor Ahmed, DM PPHI Shafique Rehman Aggro, N-Stop Officer Dr Kaleem Shaikh, DM HANDS Mansoor Memon, Assistant Commissioners of the talukas and officers from LG, revenue, police, rangers, education and health departments. Taluka-level Medical Superintendents, representatives of EPI, WHO, information department and other relevant institutions were also present.
