Lahore: Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza on Monday conducted an early morning inspection of Tehsil City to oversee cleanliness, sewerage, and urban management as part of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s ‘Clean Lahore Mission.’
Accompanied by Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), Assistant Commissioner City, and officials from WASA and LWMC, the DC reviewed various areas including Circular Road, Ainq Market, Shah Alam Market, and Rang Mahal Chowk.
During the visit, the DC expressed concern over the poor condition of drains near Ainq Market and directed immediate desilting and covering. He also instructed the prompt removal of encroachments, illegal banners, posters, and streamers from markets and residential areas to eliminate visual pollution.
Emphasizing a citizen-focused approach, the DC said the cleanliness mechanism is being personally monitored, and a strict zero-tolerance policy will be applied to any negligence in sewerage, drainage, or municipal services. He said that these measures aim to provide Lahore’s residents with cleaner streets, improved public services, and a healthier urban environment, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision of a modern and well-managed city.
