CHINIOT: Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan on Friday directed relevant departments to intensify dengue prevention activities, surveillance and larval eradication across the district.
Chairing a District Emergency Response Committee meeting, she reviewed anti-dengue measures, hotspot monitoring, indoor and outdoor surveillance and sanitation arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Wasiq Abbas Haral and Ghazala Yasin, Assistant Commissioners Shaista Jabeen, Sheena Azam and Habiba Bilal, District Health Officer Dr. Naeema Ashraf, Dengue Control Focal Person Farhat Hussain and other officials.
The deputy commissioner directed officials to ensure coordinated field operations, regularly monitor potential breeding sites and take immediate action wherever dengue larvae were detected.
She also stressed public awareness about preventive measures and cleanliness at homes, offices and surrounding areas, directing officials to strengthen field inspections and daily monitoring of anti-dengue activities.
