Sialkot: Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq reviewed monsoon preparedness and directed the authorities to ensure effective drainage arrangements and public safety measures across the city.
According to a spokesperson, the deputy commissioner instructed WASA Sialkot to keep its emergency camps fully operational with adequate staff, machinery and other essential resources to ensure the prompt drainage of rainwater. He also directed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of the drainage network and take timely measures to prevent waterlogging during rainfall.
He further instructed the Municipal Corporation to inspect dilapidated and dangerous buildings, ensure continuous monitoring and take necessary precautionary measures to avert any untoward incidents during the monsoon season.
The deputy commissioner directed all relevant departments to utilize all available resources to facilitate citizens during rains and ensure effective implementation of drainage and other public safety measures.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mian Sarmad Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Rana Safdar Shabbir, WASA Managing Director Faisal Shehzad and Municipal Corporation Chief Officer Zubair Wattoo attended the briefing.
