DC visits 11th Muharram procession route to review arrangements

RAWALPINDI:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, Hasan Waqar Cheema here on Thursday visited the route of the 11th Muharram procession and reviewed the arrangements.

The DC also visited the control room set up to monitor the security arrangements.

He informed that proper checking was being done through scanners at entry points of the procession.

Strict security arrangements had been made which were being checked from the control room, Hasan Waqar Cheema said, adding that the procession after passing through the traditional route would culminate at ‘Shah Pyara Darbar’ at 8 pm.

He informed that ‘Sabeels’ (drinking water, milk stalls) were also arranged on the procession route to facilitate the mourners.

A comprehensive plan had been formulated to provide first aid and on-the-spot pre-hospital medical care to the mourners and special first aid camps were set up on the procession route, he added.
