HYDERABAD:The 11th death anniversary of the versatile legendary comedian Safirullah commonly known as Lehri was observed by the Welfare Foundation here on Monday.
In this connection, a ceremony was held at the residence of Syed Mehmood Jafferi in Latifabad.
Besides eminent social, literary, educational and media personalities, son-in-law of Lehri Asad Mehboob and Senior Journalist Aslam Mehmood Dehlvi and students of Lehri Ghaffar Lehri attended the ceremony.
Addressing the event, Aslam Mehmood Dehlvi, Ishart Ali Khan, Saleem Guddo, Majeed Mughal, Yaqoob Rasheed, Tayab Ali, Abdul Ghani Ansari, Syed Mehmood Jafferi and Abdul Waheed Shaikh shed light on the life and career of actor.
Lehri was one of the greatest comedians who made his name through his film career from 1950s to 1980s.
He won Nigar Awards for around a dozen films.
