Decision to fully implement Shop and Security Act in commercial centers

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to fully implement the Shop and Security Act in the city’s important commercial centers. Security cameras and security guards will be fully implemented in shops and markets. According to Safe City Authority sources said that camera systems would be used for extensive CCTV networks, often with AI and analytics, to monitor public spaces. The new initiative will enable rapid police response via integrated command centers, and gather evidence, significantly reducing crimes like robbery and theft in cities by creating real-time situational awareness and encouraging self-monitoring among citizens.
