Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to retain the services of currently deployed School Teacher Interns (STIs) and recruit new STIs against vacant positions.
The School Education Department (SED) has issued directives to execute new contracts with the existing STIs. The services of the current School Teacher Interns will continue from August 24, 2026, to May 31, 2027.
The School Education Department has also directed the initiation of the recruitment process for new School Teacher Interns to fill vacant posts. These new recruitments will be conducted under the School Teacher Interns Program, that is continued on the basis of 2024 policy.
The recruitment of new STIs will be based on district-wise allocated quotas, and all Chief Executive Officers across the province have been instructed to provide updated records regarding the STIs. The School Education Department has ordered strict adherence to rules and regulations regarding the recruitment and deployment of School Teacher Interns. The SED has designated the recruitment of STIs as a top priority.
