Sukkur: SSP Sukkur Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry on Friday visited the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and assured effective measures to curb crime and protect the business community.
He met FPCCI Vice President and Sindh Regional Chairman Bilal Waqar Khan, Chamber President Muhammad Khalid Kakizai, Senior Vice President Amit Kumar, Vice President Muhammad Owais Rais, Law and Order Committee Convener Chaudhry Zahid Iqbal, Engineer Abdul Fatah Shaikh, Amir Ali Khan Ghouri, Muhammad Rizwan Malik and others.
The SSP said the entire police team is committed to controlling crime and providing a secure environment to citizens and traders. He said 300 personnel deployed on VIP protocol duty have been withdrawn and deployed across the city, while 5 more motorcycles have been provided to Eagle Force, raising its patrolling strength to 13 bikes.
He said orders have been issued for deployment at all police stations and check posts, and asked chamber officials to immediately report absenteeism for action. He assured deployment of personnel and lady constables at commercial centres, increased patrolling on key areas and highways, and efforts for recovery of stolen goods.
The participants stressed regular coordination meetings between police and the business community and raised issues of car and motorcycle theft, robberies and drug peddling.
