HYDERABAD:The District and Session Judge, who is also In Charge Judge of Anti Corruption Court, extended the judicial remand of the recently removed Deputy Commissioner district Matiari Adnan Rashid for 7 days.
Rashid, who is among the government and private officials booked in Rs 2.3 billion corruption scam concerning purchase of land for construction of M6 Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, was produced amid tight security.
A team of Anti Corruption Establishment arrested the former DC from Matiari district on November 17.
The former Assistant Commissioner Saeedabad taluka Mansoor Abbassi and Assistant Manager Sindh Bank Syed Tabish Shah are also booked and arrested in the same case.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) had transferred Rs 4.09 billion in the account of DC Matiari for land acquisition purposes.
The amount accrued to Rs4.63 billion after addition of the bank given profit on the deposit.
The officials arrested by the ACE have been charged with misappropriation of funds in the garb of purchase of land.
