Haripur: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Hazara Region, Nasir Mehmood Satti, visited Haripur on Thursday to inspect the security arrangements in place for the holy month of Muharram.

The DIG was briefed by District Police Officer (DPO) Farhan Khan and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shozeb Abbas on the measures taken to ensure public safety during religious processions.

During his visit, DIG Satti reviewed the routes of the 8th and 9th Muharram processions and the central Imambargah located in Mohalla Motiyan. He also inspected the control room set up at the DPO Office, which is tasked with monitoring all key locations via surveillance cameras.

Speaking to officers deployed on duty, DIG Satti emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and proactive. 'No negligence will be tolerated in security matters during Muharram,' he said. 'All officers must perform their duties with full responsibility and alertness.'

He directed that all entry and exit points along the procession routes be secured with walkthrough gates and surveillance systems, while thorough body searches of participants must be ensured. Special instructions were given to keep a close watch on any suspicious activity.

Later, DIG Satti met with members of the Peace Committee and notable Shia community leaders. They expressed satisfaction with the preparations and thanked the district administration and police for their coordination and support.

'The Hazara Police have completed all necessary security arrangements to maintain peace during Muharram,' DIG Satti assured. 'No one will be allowed to disrupt the region's peaceful environment. Strict legal action will be taken against any miscreants.'

He further instructed police personnel stationed at the control room to ensure immediate response and legal support in case of any emergency, affirming the room's critical role in real-time monitoring and rapid intervention.
