Multan: The district administration on Friday launched a strict crackdown on illegal petrol pumps and unlawful LPG refilling businesses to protect public safety and property.
According to a spokesperson,authorities have emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against fuel operations that pose serious hazards.
In the past month,enforcement teams arrested 110 individuals and registered 90 cases against those involved in illegal fuel trade.
During the operations,150 shops and unauthorized units were sealed and illegal machinery and refilling equipment were confiscated.
The campaign,conducted by Assistant Commissioners in coordination with the Civil Defense Department was led by Assistant Commissioner(AC) Saddar Zahid Iqbal and District Civil Defense Officer Muhammad Arshad.
Teams recovered LPG cylinders and petrol drums from unlicensed sites and initiated legal proceedings against the violators.
DC Nauman Siddique stated that illegal petrol pumps and LPG refilling units were a serious threat to public safety and assured that enforcement actions will continue until all unlawful fuel operations were eliminated from the district.
