Peshawar: In a major operation within the limits of Peshawar, the Excise Special Squad of the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department on Friday successfully foiled a large-scale drug smuggling attempt, recovering 100.8 kilograms of hashish from a motor car during a targeted action on the Motorway Service Road.
Acting on credible intelligence received by Syed Naveed Jamal, Excise and Taxation Officer (Rehab) and Incharge Provincial Excise Warehouse, Inayat ur Rehman, Inspector and Incharge Excise Special Squad, along with his team, conducted the operation.
During the search, 100,800 grams (100.8 kilograms) of hashish were recovered from a motor car bearing registration number LED-3066.
The recovered narcotics were taken into custody, while further legal proceedings and investigation have been initiated through the registration of a case at Excise Police Station, Peshawar.
According to the Excise Department, anti-narcotics operations will be further intensified, and no leniency will be shown to those involved in drug trafficking.
