PESHAWAR:Following the tragic Dir Colony incident, the district administration initiated a comprehensive safety inspection of government and private educational institutions, as well as religious seminaries (madrasas), on Saturday to prevent similar mishaps in future.
Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Afaq Wazir, administrative officers carried out building inspections across various areas of Tehsil City.
The operation involved a multi-agency coalition, including teams from Rescue 1122, Communications and Works Department, Capital Metropolitan Government, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority, Educational Monitoring Authority (EMA), and relevant officials from Education Department.
The main objective of the inspection drive was to establish a secure and conductive learning environment for students.
Officials are thoroughly evaluating structural integrity of buildings, overall student safety measures, and availability of essential basic facilities across all academic centers.
A dedicated audit committee, operating under supervision of Deputy Commissioner, will compile and submit a comprehensive inspection report to higher authorities.
Strict legal and administrative action will be taken against institutions or madrasa owners found operating out of dilapidated or unsafe structures.
