District council employee held for taking bribe

Multan:The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan Region arrested a District Council baildar red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs20,000 during a raid on Wednesday. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Regional Director ACE Multan Basharat Nabi, on the special directions of Director General ACE Punjab Sohail Zafar Chattha. According to an ACE spokesman, Circle Officer ACE Khanewal Sajid Ali and his team conducted the raid under the supervision of a judicial magistrate and arrested Qaiser Abbas, an employee of the District Council Khanewal, while he was allegedly receiving Rs 20,000 in bribe.



The marked currency notes were recovered from the accused and took it into custody in accordance with the law. The complaint was lodged by Ali Shan, son of Nazar Hussain, who alleged that he had previously paid Rs30,000 to Qaiser Abbas in connection with obtaining government land of the Forest department/District Council Khanewal through legal procedure. The accused allegedly demanded and received an additional Rs20,000, leading to the raid and his arrest. A case was registered against the accused while further investigations launched.
