DERA ISMAIL KHAN: District Police Officer (DPO) Nasir Mehmood on Wednesday visited Paharpur Circle and checked the security arrangements made for peaceful conduct of Muharram ul Haram.
According to police spokesman, the DPO was accompanied by ASP Ali Hamza during the visit. The DPO was briefed about the security arrangements made in connection with the holy month of Muharram by SDPO Paharpur Circle Naqeeb Ullah Khan.
During the visit, he also held meetings with guardians of Thalajats and discussed the security situation and arrangements made for the holy month of Muharram. The DPO expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and said that no one would be allowed to disturb peace in the area.
Later, DPO Dera personally inspected the various Imambargahs and processions’ routes and overall security arrangements in the circle. He also instructed the authorities concerned to further enhance security arrangements in order to ensure peaceful conduct of Muharram.
Speaking on this occasion, DPO Nasir Mehmood said
the atmosphere of peace and brotherhood should be maintained during Muharram, adding, the strict arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident.
Moreover, he said the strict action would be taken against miscreants and those who spread disorder.
