Lahore: Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta has directed the authorities to complete the ongoing development projects at the Bibi Pakdaman shrine within the stipulated time while ensuring construction quality and structural safety. He inspected the development works being carried out under Phase-II of the Bibi Pakdaman shrine project and reviewed the progress of male and female langar khanas, ablution facilities, installation of windows, plastering and concreting work in the basement, here on Sunday. Project Director Auqaf Rafiq Noor Wattoo, XEN Communications and Works Department Fahad Naveed, SDO Huzaifa, Auqaf Manager Gulzar Ahmad and other officers were present. XEN Fahad Naveed briefed the secretary on the progress of the projects and said the roof work of the first floor of the male langar khana would be completed within the next 15 days. He said construction of columns up to the roof level in the basement of the female langar khana would also be completed. Dr Ehsan Bhutta directe
d that the pace of development work be further accelerated and the projects completed within the given deadlines. He stressed that construction quality, structural strength and safety requirements must be ensured alongside timely completion. He said timely completion of major development and expansion projects was essential for facilitating visitors to the shrine. He directed the concerned officers and contractors to regularly monitor the works and strictly adhere to the deadlines.
Later, Dr Ehsan Bhutta visited the shrine, offered Fateha and prayed for the progress, prosperity, peace and stability of the country. He subsequently inspected Data Darbar Hospital, including the daycare centre, children’s ward, medical ward and staff hostel, and reviewed medical facilities, availability of medicines, cleanliness and other arrangements. Medical Superintendent Dr Javed Iqbal, Assistant Director Shahid Warq and other medical and administrative officers were present. The secretary directed the hospital administration to maintain high standards of cleanliness in all wards, the ground and staff hostel and ensure uninterrupted provision of essential medicines and medical facilities to patients. He said all available resources should be utilised to provide better and timely medical treatment to patients visiting Data Darbar Hospital. Dr Ehsan Bhutta also planted a sapling at the hospital ground as part of the plantation campaign. He later visited the Girls Vocational Training Institute and reviewed
the educational environment and vocational training facilities available for students.
