KHANEWAL: Punjab Highways Petrol (PHP) arrested a driver for using an illegal LPG cylinder on the public vehicle during a crackdown launched on Sunday.
Punjab Highways Petrol (PHP) launched a special crackdown against public vehicles using illegal LPG cylinders putting public lives at risk.
In this regard, a team of PHP led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kanwar Abdul Malik, checked various public vehicles. The team arrested a driver Ahmed Sher for using illegal LPG cylinder.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanwar Abdul Malik said that many mishaps have been reported in the past due to illegal LPG cylinders. He said that the crackdown was being carried out under zero tolerance policy by keeping in view the safety of the public.
A case has been registered with the Thatha Sadiqabad police station against the driver while the vehicle has also been impounded, Abdul Malik added.
