Dry weather expected across most parts of country on Monday: PMD

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast dry weather in most parts of the country on Monday, with hot conditions expected in plain areas during daytime.



However, partly cloudy weather is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during the evening and night, with rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms at isolated places during night hours.



In Islamabad and its surroundings, dry and hot weather is expected during daytime, while partly cloudy conditions are likely during evening and night.



In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dry weather is expected in most districts, with hot conditions in plain areas during daytime. However, upper districts are likely to experience partly cloudy weather, with rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Bajaur, Malakand, Peshawar, Swat and Kohistan during evening and night.



Most districts of Punjab are expected to experience dry and hot weather during daytime. However, partly cloudy conditions with rain, wind and thunderstorms may occur in Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas during evening and night.



In Sindh, dry and hot weather is expected in most districts, while Karachi and its adjoining areas may experience partly cloudy weather with drizzle at isolated places.



Most districts of Balochistan are likely to experience dry weather, with hot conditions during daytime.



In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, dry weather is expected during daytime, while partly cloudy conditions are likely during evening and night. However, isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan may receive rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms during night hours.



According to the PMD, dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the past 24 hours, while plain areas remained hot.



Sibi and Shaheed Benazirabad recorded the highest maximum temperature at 42 degrees Celsius.



The minimum and maximum temperatures recorded in major cities included Islamabad 20/33, Lahore 23/36, Karachi 27/33, Peshawar 23/36, Quetta 12/34, Gilgit 09/36, Muzaffarabad 16/36, Skardu 06/27, Murree 12/23, Faisalabad 24/37 and Multan 25/36 degrees Celsius.



In Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla, temperatures remained at 12/31, 22/33, 04/21, 12/30, 11/29, 12/30 and 11/29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
