Vehari:An eight-year-old student was killed on Monday, when unidentified armed men opened fire near a primary school in the village of Rukanpur, in the vicinity of Toba Sultanpur, Vehari district.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Muhammad Ali. Eyewitnesses said the assailants fled the scene after the firing.
Local police rushed to the scene after receiving information, cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence. Police shifted the child’s body to a hospital.
The body will be handed over to the heirs after completion of the necessary legal formalities, police said.
