Lahore: The Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education has sought explanations from five teaching hospitals for failing to implement the Annual Procurement Calendar 2025-26.
According to an official letter issued on Thursday, clarifications have been sought from the Medical Superintendents of Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara Lahore, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore, Children Hospital Faisalabad, Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital Sargodha, and the Project Director, Institute of Ophthalmology and Allied Health Vision Sciences, Multan.
In a statement, Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Azmat Mahmood Khan said that strict action would be taken against hospitals and medical institutions that do not ensure implementation of the Annual Procurement Calendar. He directed the concerned heads of hospitals to ensure 100 percent compliance with the procurement calendar to maintain transparency and timely availability of medical supplies.
The secretary emphasized that adherence to the Annual Procurement Calendar is mandatory and any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
