Father, uncles arrested for Qatar-returned woman’s murder in Wah

District

Rawalpindi: The Wah Cantt Police, in a major breakthrough, have arrested three more accused for the murder of a Qatar-returned married woman, including her father and two uncles.

A Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Thursday that one of the main suspects had already been arrested, and further arrests were made following his disclosure.

During interrogation, the suspect revealed that the victim’s two uncles, in collusion with her husband, had allegedly planned the murder. The woman was brought back to Pakistan and killed on the instructions of her father and uncles, the spokesman added.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, he said, had taken notice of the incident and directed the Wah Cantt Police to ensure the arrest of all those involved.

He said the case had been registered by the police, and raids were under way to arrest other suspects involved in the crime.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Talha Wali said the arrested suspects would be presented before the court with a challan backed by solid evidence.
