Food safety drive continues in Gujrat

District


Gujrat: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), on the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat, continued its crackdown against substandard food across Gujrat district by inspecting 43 food outlets and taking action against businesses found violating food safety regulations.



According to official sources, PFA teams issued improvement notices to 15 food businesses over various hygiene and food safety violations, while imposing a total fine of Rs94,000 on seven food outlets.



During the inspection campaign, the teams also discarded 1.5 kilograms of expired food items to prevent their sale to consumers.



The PFA reiterated its commitment to ensuring the availability of safe, quality and hygienic food for the public, adding that inspections and legal action against violators would continue without interruption across the district.
