Rawalpindi: A local court Thursday sentenced four men to twice-death for the gang rape and murder of a prisoner in Adiala Jail. All the four criminals are prisoners already punished in various crimes.
The convicted men including Waqas, Asif, Naqash and Bilal were given twice-death sentences each by Additional District Judge Afshan Ijaz Sufi. They were also fined.
The crime occurred in 2024 when the four prisoners raped a fellow prisoner Sabeeh, and then strangled him to death with cloth. A case was registered at Sadar Bairuni police station.
A special prosecution team led by District Public Prosecutor Imran Rahim successfully proved the case in court.
The judge announced twice- death penalties for each convict after reviewing all the evidence.
The case was pursued in court by the prosecution team led by District Public Prosecutor Mian Imran Rahim, who satisfied the court with solid and convincing evidence.
Punjab Prosecutor General Syed Farhad Ali Shah commended and congratulated District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Mian Imran Rahim and his team for the exceptional success.
