LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has taken disciplinary action against four of its meter readers posted at Mehmood Booti Sub-Division, the company’s Spokesman disclosed this to media here Friday. He said that Meter Reader Muhammad Owais was dismissed after being proved guilty of electricity theft and corruption. One year increment of Meter Reader Mumtaz Majeed was with held on charges of pending units; and three months increment of Meter Reader Rizwan Umar was withheld on the same charges, while Meter Reader Imran Iqbal was also taken to task on charges of pending units. He mentioned that according to the instructions of Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider, strict action being taken against the consumers and officials involved in corruption/electricity theft.
