Faisalabad: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad Circle has nabbed four officials from PASCO godown in tehsil Tandlianwala over adulteration and misappropriation of wheat bags.
Official sources said here Thursday that the FIA team on the identification of the accused also recovered 1,350 gunny bags (bardana) from the godown of a private broker.
The arrested accused included Assistant Purchase Inspector Shamsher Ali, Security Guards Muhammad Suhail, Muhammad Kashif and Ali Sher. They were deployed at PASCO godown, tehsil Tandlianwala.
The accused were involved in mixing soil in bags and embezzled 12,000 wheat bags with the assistance of a private broker. They had inflicted financial loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.
The accused have been locked behind bars and an investigation has been initiated, raids are being conducted to arrest the co-accused including officers responsible.
